Eve Arden was born Eunice Mary Quedens in Mill Valley, California (near San Francisco), and was interested in show business from an early age. At 16, she made her stage debut after quitting school to join a stock company. After appearing in minor roles in two films under her real name, Eunice Quedens, she found that the stage offered her the same minor roles. By the mid 30s, one of these minor roles would attract notice as a comedy sketch in the stage play "Ziegfeld Follies".
By that time, she had changed her name to Eve Arden, which she adopted while looking over some cosmetics and spotting the names "Evening in Paris" and "Elizabeth Arden". In 1937, she garnered some attention with a small role in Oh, Doctor (1937), which led to her being cast in a minor role in the film Stage Door (1937). By the time the film was finished, her part had expanded into the wise-cracking, fast-talking friend to the lead. She would play virtually the character for most of her career.
While her sophisticated wise-cracking would never make her the lead, she would be a busy actress in dozens of movies over the next dozen years. In At the Circus (1939), she was the acrobatic Peerless Pauline opposite Groucho Marx and the Russian sharp shooter in the comedy The Doughgirls (1944). For her role as Ida in Mildred Pierce (1945), she received an Academy Award nomination. Famous for her quick ripostes, this led to work in Radio during the 1940s. In 1948, CBS Radio premiered "Our Miss Brooks", which would be the perfect show for her character. As her film career began to slow, CBS would take the popular radio show to television in 1952. The television series Our Miss Brooks (1952) would run through 1956 and led to the movie Our Miss Brooks (1956).
When the show ended, Arden tried another television series, The Eve Arden Show (1957), but it was soon canceled. In the 1960s, Arden raised a family and did a few guest roles, until her come-back television series The Mothers-In-Law (1967). This show, co-starring Kaye Ballard ran for two seasons. After that, she would make more unsold pilots, a couple of television movies and a few guest shots. She returned in occasional cameo appearances including as Principal McGee in Grease (1978), and Warden June in Pandemonium (1982).- Actor

Jordan Christopher Michael was born on 24 March 1979 in Mill Valley, California, USA. He is an actor and director, known for Motorama (1991), The Favor (1994) and The Heat of the Beat.- This moody, baby-faced hunk had the slick, sullen, magnetic good looks and rebel attitude of an Elvis Presley, not to mention a startling resemblance. Sure enough, the timing would prove right for Michael St. Gerard, making a killer impression on teenage girls first on film, then TV -- as greaser types and even Elvis himself -- in the early 90s.
Born in New York Mills, New York, he developed an early interest in acting and first found work in Japanese commercials and the off-Broadway stage. He made a strong impression in an otherwise mediocre teen film Senior Week (1988), then really set the wheels in motion with his second film, the John Waters' retro classic Hairspray (1988) in which Ricki Lake pines for the St. Gerard amid an American Bandstand type setting circa 1962. The amiable and tuneful satire worked perfectly and St. Gerard managed to stand out among the cult figures who appeared, including Divine, Sonny Bono and Debbie Harry.
St. Gerard got to play Presley twice in films with Heart of Dixie (1989) and Great Balls of Fire! (1989), the latter film a biopic on Jerry Lee Lewis, played all-out by Dennis Quaid. So much attention was placed on St. Gerard's Elvis imitation that the producers of a new TV series looking to recapture Elvis' early years had to look no further. The highly ambitious Elvis (1990) ran for 10 episodes and St. Gerard was magnificent in the role, with Millie Perkins and Billy Green Bush equally terrific as his parents, Gladys and Vernon Presley. The show, however, was canceled despite the critical praise heaped upon it.
Michael moved ahead to the popular teen show Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990), playing an acting teacher in it second season, but this time Luke Perry and Jason Priestley grabbed the sexy attention. From there a few insignificant direct-to-video exports materialized, such as Into the Sun (1991), Live Wire (1992) and Replikator (1994), but his career had simmered.
In 1994, St. Gerard had a spiritual awakening after leading a Sunday School class, and, with it, decided to retire and focus his energies on religious instruction. He subsequently became a pastor in the Harlem area of New York City, extending himself and his church in particular to inner-city youths, and spends little time reflecting on his past stardom. - Music Artist

Fiercely rooted in the classics, the girl who left her Kentucky home and high school at 16 to take a job at Dollywood has grown into a woman who embraces the genre's forward progression. GRAMMY® Award-winning singer-songwriter Carly Pearce lit a fire with her debut album Every Little Thing and the PLATINUM-certified history-making title track, and she hasn't slowed down since.
Pearce's 3x PLATINUM-certified "I Hope You're Happy Now" with Lee Brice won both the 2020 CMA Awards Musical Event and 2021 ACM Awards Music Event, plus ACM Single of the Year. Pearce, now a Grand Ole Opry and Kentucky Music Hall of Fame member, has come a long way from the pain she felt writing her critically acclaimed and commercially lauded third studio album 29 which includes Country Radio chart toppers "Never Wanted To Be That Girl" with Ashley McBryde and PLATINUM-certified "What He Didn't Do." For the PLATINUM-certified "Never Wanted To Be That Girl," Pearce picked up her second consecutive ACM Music Event of the Year in 2022 and marked the third duet between two solo women to top Billboard's Country Airplay chart. The song also took home the 2022 CMA Musical Event of the Year and won a GRAMMY® Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, marking Pearce's first and making history as the first female pairing to win in the category.
In 2023, Pearce joined Blake Shelton's BACK TO THE HONKY TONK TOUR and made her 100th performance at the Grand Ole Opry. As she closed out that pivotal 29 chapter with her first live album 29: Written In Stone (Live From Music City), Pearce now steps into the next chapter of her musical career with the praised release of her latest Top-20-and-rising single "we don't fight anymore" (featuring Chris Stapleton), which earned her second GRAMMY® nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Pearce went on to release "country music made me do it," to critical acclaim, performing the song at the first annual People's Choice Country Awards and on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Last Fall, Pearce wrapped her headline Country Music Made Me Do It Tour, connecting with her fans all across the country. This March, Pearce will join Tim McGraw's 2024 Standing Room Only Tour as direct support. Pearce will release her highly anticipated fourth album, hummingbird, on June 14, continuing to resonate with her honest lyrics and timeless musicality.- David Hargreaves was born on 2 February 1940 in New Mills, Derbyshire, England, UK. Reinout Oerlemans has worked in the media and entertainment business for 25 years. Launching his career as an actor and on-air host, he transitioned early to become one of the industry's most successful producers and directors of global unscripted and scripted content.
In 2009, Oerlemans made his debut as a feature film director with Academy Award winning producer Hans de Weers, delivering the highest-grossing Dutch movie of the decade, STRICKEN (Komt Een Vrouw Bij De Dokter, starring Carice Van Houten). In 2011 he brought to the Dutch cinema its first movie in 3D: Nova Zembla (starring supermodel Doutzen Kroes in her first on screen appearance), which sold close to a million tickets in the BENELUX.
His love for drama turned Oerlemans into an active, award-winning producer in the scripted space- producing numerous feature films, including The DINNER (with director Menno Meyes, writer of the Color Purple and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), New Kids Turbo (over 1.5 million tickets sold in Holland, Germany and Belgium), and JACKIE (featuring Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter).
In 1989, while studying law at the University of Amsterdam, Oerlemans was "plucked off the street" and cast as a lead in the first Dutch daily, prime time drama ("Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden"). Following six years on the hit series, he became one of Holland's most successful TV personalities, hosting a variety of entertainment shows including the first cycles of American Idol in Holland. He also hosted the hit series Strictly Come Dancing, as well as many seasons of his own talk show, PULSE, for biggest commercial network RTL.
In 2001, Oerlemans founded his own production company, Eyeworks. With a vision to turn the company into a major player in the global TV industry, Eyeworks grew to encompass 16 companies across continental Europe, Scandinavia, South America, New Zealand, Australia and the US- making it one of the top 5 of biggest independent production companies in the world.
Oerlemans created such successful formats as Test The Nation, broadcast in more than 50 territories, as well as Who Wants to Marry My Son, (16 territories) the scripted series COPS Maastricht (100 episodes) and Celebrity Splash for ITV and ABC in the US (sold to 25 territories in total).
In February 2014, Oerlemans sold the Eyeworks group off to Warner Bros. Television Group. The acquisition encompassed all Eyeworks territories outside the United States. After the transaction Oerlemans moved with his wife (former professional cyclist Danielle Overgaag) and their 4 children (Thijmen, Fiene, Ben and Kate) to Los Angeles to 'live the dream', becoming Chairman of his Company Eyeworks USA. In January 2015, he rebranded the company 3 Ball Entertainment (a nod to the original US production company, 3 Ball Productions, which Eyeworks acquired in 2006) and serves as that company's chairman.
3 Ball Entertainment is one of the largest reality producers in the USA- credits include the hit series Extreme Weight Loss (the show also airs as Obese in 150 countries worldwide) and Bar Rescue, (100 episodes for Spike) among many other titles.
Reinout's domestic and international success in film and television has allowed him to transition seamlessly between each medium. If he has an interest in something, he won't let it go and is passionate about everything he does. As a producer and director, he is positioned (and determined) to strike in his next venture in American cinema.- Casting Director

James F. died on 29 August 2010 in Gresham, Oregon, USA.- Stephen Mallatratt died of leukemia at the age 57. He achieved fame by adapting Susan Hill's novel The Woman In Black which premiered in Scarborough as a stocking filler over Christmas in 1987.
The Woman In Black is a classic thriller for two actors, the successor to Anthony Shaffer's Sleuth, is now the second longest-running West End play - after The Mousetrap. It has been translated into a dozen languages and produced in 40 countries.
In the mid-1970s, Mallatratt, while working as an actor in Alan Ayckbourn's company in Scarborough, wrote An Englishman's Home. It was, recalls Ayckbourn, a near-perfect first play. Like his better known peers - John Osborne, Harold Pinter, Ayckbourn himself - Mallatratt's writing was addressed and stamped by his experience as an actor.
Although never a "brand-name" playwright, Mallatratt's craft and professionalism made him well-known as a core member of the Coronation Street script-writing team from 1985, and as the author of such fine television series as his 2002 version of John Galsworthy's The Forsyte Saga and last year's Island At War, set on a fictional Channel Island.
Born and bred in Mill Hill, north London, he came from a lower middle-class background. After Orange Hill school he defied expectations in his brightness - "Oxbridge material" is the phrase - by working briefly in the building trade, and training as an actor at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
He caught the theatre bug in his teens as a member of the Watford Palace audience. After Central, he worked as a rep actor and was spotted by Ayckbourn in Ipswich. He was tall, slim, blond, good-looking. Despite these handicaps, says Ayckbourn, he struggled through. He exuded an air of diffidence and thoughtfulness, on and offstage.
One of his closest friends, the actor David Neilson, who still plays a Coronation Street character molded by Mallatratt, Roy Cropper, says that he was a much better actor than he had the confidence for: "He had an excellent line in scoutmasters and other English eccentrics."
When Ayckbourn invited Mallatratt to Scarborough, he was still under contract to the Ipswich theatre, but he paid out his employers. Mallatratt originated roles in such Ayckbourn modern masterpieces as Confusions, Absent Friends and Bedroom Farce; other Ayckbourn protégés of this glorious past half-century at Scarborough were the playwrights James Saunders, Stephen Lowe, Robert Eaton and Tim Firth.
Mallatratt moved on to Bristol. When the Old Vic closed its collaborative operation in the nearby Little Theatre in the late 1970s, he and Neilson were among the outstanding group of actors who took the place over; others were Daniel Day-Lewis, Pete Postlethwaite, Pam Ferris and George Costigan.
One of the group's final productions was Mallatratt's Comic Cuts, about a bingo hall swindling the Arts Council for funding. When the play was revived in the West End 10 years later as The Glory Of The Garden, the title of an Arts Council report, it was not so funny - the cuts were no longer far-fetched. Too much reality had kicked in.
Mallatratt returned to Scarborough in autumn 1985 and acted in Ayckbourn's production of The Brontes Of Howarth by Christopher Fry. When Ayckbourn took a sabbatical to join Peter Hall as a National Theatre associate, Mallatratt stayed on as the stand-in resident writer for stand-in artistic director Robin Herford.
Herford commissioned a play about witchcraft in Heptonstall that became the not too dissimilar precursor of The Woman In Black. The rest is history; Herford's only regret is that Mallatratt was about to hit "an even longer stride" as a dramatist.
He is survived by three successive wives, the actors Vanessa Mallatratt and Eileen O'Brien (with whom he had a daughter, Hannah), and the stage manager Emma London. - Writer

Chief Tahachee, was born Jeff Davis Tahchee Cypert, 4 March 1904 in James Mill, Arkansas, he died of a heart attack 9 June 1978 in San Gabriel, California. He was an American-born, Old Settler Cherokee Indian, who was a stage-performer, silent-and-sound motion picture actor, stuntman, expert horseman, circus and wild west show entertainer, contortionist and fire-walker. He also worked as a makeup artist, costume designer, and directed a few motion pictures.
Chief Tahachee's stage and motion picture career spanned the 1920s to the 1960s. His first motion picture acting was in the silent film, The Last of the Mohicans, in 1920. The Chief was 16-years old at the time, although he told the casting director he was 21.
Through his friends, silent film actors Ben Turpin, a relative of his first wife, and Ramon Navarro, Chief Tahachee obtained the roles of a henchman in A Small Town Idol, and a Gaucho in The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, both produced in 1921.
Though Chief Tahachee was in motion pictures starting in the 1920s, his career did not take off until his chance meeting with Rollin S. Sturgeon, who cast Chief Tahachee in a bit-part as a cowboy in North of the Rio Grande in 1922, a film starring Jack Holt and BeBe Daniels. The bit-part was given to him by chance, as the Chief was picked from a crowd of fans, extras, actors, and directors loitering around the film location in Northern California (either Bishop or Lone Pine) where North of the Rio Grande was being shot.
Mr. Sturgeon groomed Chief Tahachee after this, and from this point on parts were a little easier to come by because of this new friendship. Mr. Sturgeon is also credited with convincing the youthful Cherokee actor to add Chief to his name for publicity purposes, and to change his second-middle-name Tahchee to Tahachee, making his new name Chief Tahachee. Tahachee used the title "Chief" reluctantly at first but became more comfortable with the title as time went on. Chief Tahachee eventually was given the honorary title of "Chief" later in his motion picture career in honor of his involvement with a variety of American Indian causes. When asked about his title, the Chief would tell people, "Didn't you know everyone is a Chief in Hollywood! It's a land of make believe!
Unlike many of his counterparts, Chief Yowlatchie, Chief John Big Tree and Chief Richard Thunderbird, Chief Tahachee did not limit himself to American Indian roles during his 40-year career. His friends Charles Stevens and Charles Brunner advised him not to typecast himself, and as a result of this timely advice Chief Tahachee would not turn down a part or other work on a movie. First, he portrayed every form of American Indian. He also portrayed gangsters, thugs, henchman, cowboys, Mexicans, Anglos, Hindus, soldiers, policeman, sheriffs, deputies, townsman, barflies, Mongols, sailors and Asians.
Chief Tahachee also tried his hand at costume design, makeup artist, directing and of course stunt work. Chief Tahachee would not turn down a role no matter how insignificant. Chief Tahachee's close friends, actors and various associates in the motion picture business were Carl Matthews, Bill Hazlett, Jay Silverheels, Chief Yowlatchie, Chief John Big Tree, Charles Stevens, Charles Brunner, Luther Standing Bear and Billy Wilkerson.
Chief Tahachee authored four books, the most successful being Poems of Dreams.- Producer
